Making a Save-T Air CurtainTop PlateTMI, LLC utilizes the highest quality materials to produce itsSidePanelTopRailFan Baskets & Motoron Mounting PlateAir Curtains. The system is constructed of 100% steel components. The intake grill, side panels and top & bottom panels are produced of stainless steel. The fans and fan baskets are SG-grade galvanized steel. The unit is assembledwith stainless steel hex screws so the intake grill can beeasily and quickly removed for fast, easy maintenance ilIntakeGrillHow a Save-T Air Curtain WorksThe Save-T Air Curtain is mounted above a doorwayopening, just above the header. Ambient air is drawnBDCthrough the front intake grill (A) and into the fan baskets(B). The blower wheel (C), forces the air into an airAchamber (D) and the air is forced downward through thedischarge nozzle (E). An invisible “wall of air” is createdEthat serves as the barrier preventing conditioned airfrom leaving the building and blocking outside air fromentering, even when there is no primary door in place.Key features:RevolutionaryAir Curtain withAERODYNAMICCompression ChamberGenerating“COANDA EFFECT”Air Movement Air Chamber design utilizesthe Coanda effect to createa more uniform air flow tomaximize efficiency andreduce noise levels Aesthetically pleasing designHeaters (see Optional Equipment & Accessories, pgs. 26 & 27) can be added to the units so that acomfortable environment can be maintained forcustomers while creating a better, more productivework area for personnel during the winter months.Heated units further increase energy savings bylowering heating and cooling costs.3
When to use aSave-T Air CurtainAir Curtains reduce energy costs while increasingemployee and customer comfort. The high velocity air screen created by the Air Curtain stopsoutside wind, while circulating the warm air thatnaturally rises toward the ceiling. During the winter months, Air Curtains stop exterior cold draftsfrom entering through open doorways and prevent heated air from escaping. During the summer months, Air Curtains keep warm, humid airoutside and prevent the loss of conditioned air.COLD & WINDCONTROLBUG & DUSTCONTROLHEAT & HUMIDITYCONTROLDuring the cold months, the Air Curtains save onenergy costs by drawingwarm air from the ceilingarea.Air Curtains are capable ofstopping flying insects fromentering through opendoorways. Dust and odorscan be blocked as well. When summer heat andhumidity become a problem,Air Curtains create an invisible shield that holds the hot, humid air outside.Matching Your Application with a Save-T Air CurtainIf your application is . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . then you should use these Save-T Air Curtain modelsClimate and Environment APS-LP S-CFD S-IBDXXXXInsect and Wind ControlXDrive-Thru Windows and Concession StandsOffice and Employee EntrancesXInteroffice and Commercial SeparationHospital Entrances and HallwaysRetail and Customer EntrancesRestaurant and Food Service LIS-MIS-HD t and Food Service Back DoorsHotel, Resort, and Casino EntrancesInsectBackDoorIn-CeilingMountXXXXHotel, Resort, and Casino Back DoorsXXLoading DocksInternal Warehouse OpeningsShipping and Receiving DoorsAuto Body and Open BaysPaint BoothsWalk-In Coolers and FreezersXXXXRailcar OpeningsIf you do not see your application please call 1-800-888-9750To select the correct Save-T Air Curtain for your application, the following factors should be determined:1. Type of application (See above chart)4.Pressure balance inside building2. Height and width of doorway opening5.Heating option requirement3. Amount of direct external wind exposure in m.p.h.ExternalWindM.P.H.The entire width of the doorway must be covered by the Air Curtain.4The height of the opening and wind exposure velocity can be handled by controlling the amount of air flow fromthe unit. Any deficiencies in pressure balance must be remedied by adjusting the source of the imbalance.Note: Approximately 80% of the air flow stays inside the facility, while 20% flows outside.Questions about your application?
