How do I register?Yes, students with disabilities who qualify for Special Education Services can receive a free appropriateeducation (FAPE) based on the student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP), 504, or English as aSecond Language (ESL)—should be English Language Learners (ELL)) plan. Our eLearning environmentsdeliver feasible special education programming and related services in the least restrictive environment,as determined by the student’s IEP team. Students that desire to enroll and accepted will need to have anupdated IEP meeting at their home school before applying to ensure that the modifications andaccommodations are accessible, and the eLearning environment is the best fit for that needs of thatstudent.The Guilford eLearning Virtual Academy/ Guilford eLearning University Prep will be able to participate invirtual fieldtrips, live extracurricular clubs, online mentorship, virtual business/industry and college tours,live streaming events with peers, teachers, and guest speakers, and video channeling opportunities.Yes; the eLearning staff consists of certified teachers, counselors, and the principal. The eLearningenvironment will be both synchronous; live and real-time instruction with a teacher based on thepredetermined schedule, and asynchronous; instruction is pre-recorded, and students can access at anytime based on the best time for learners, and parents as learning coaches.Yes; classes start and end with flexible scheduling options and students have a load of no more than sixcourses at one time. Teachers are available during scheduled class times, check-ins, and designated onlineoffice hours. Thevirtual schools are for families making a long-term commitment to online learning.
